Visit in Dubrovnik

We suggest to visit: The city walls which gives to the city its characteristic appearance, famous all over the world. The city walls run uninterrupted for 1940 metres encircling the city. We suggest to visit also the main street Stradun, connecting two opposite town gates, the Ploče Gate in the East and the Pile gate in the West.

From the other monuments and churches we suggest you to visit the Baroque Cathedral, which main altar features the large polyptych of the Assumption of Our Lady, a work by Tizian and his assistants,the church of Saint Blasius,the Franciscan monastery with the museum of the old pharmacy, the Dominican Monastery with the museum and the best paintings of Dubrovnik school of the 15 th -16 th centuries.

From the monuments we suggest you to visit: the Sponza Palace, the Rector's Palace and the Palace of the Major Council. In Dubrovnik there is also a synagogue from the 15th century, one of the oldest preserved synagogues in south-eastern Europe.

  • visit the peninsula of Pelješac and ancient fortified town of Ston. The walls of Ston are among the oldest in Europe. Here you can taste rich gastronomic offer especially oysters and mussels
  • visit the region of Konavle in the south;especially village of Čilipi and attractive restaurant Konavoski Dvori situated at the source of the river Ljuta.In Čilipi you can enjoy in the folklore performances and in the restaurant Konavoski Dvori you can taste the specialties of the local kitchen.
  • visit the charming small town Cavtat. Cavtat is well known for the mausoleum of the Račić family and for the Rector's Palace with a collection of Baltazar Bogišić, famous scientist and collector, doctor of legal sciences and guardian of folk treasures.In Cavtat enjoy in the promenade and taste the local food in the numerous restaurants.
