The same could be said of the famous baroque poet Ivan Gundulić, the author of the most beautiful verse on freedom ever written. Many scientists and scholars lived in Dubrovnik (among them the greatest were Marin Getaldić and Ruđer Bošković) and the works of this scientists presents some ideas that are current even today.
